앱은 어떠한 개인정보도 수집하지 않습니다. 회원가입이나 로그인이 없으며, 이용자를 식별할 수 있는 정보를 요구하지 않습니다.
이용자가 작성한 일기(제목·본문·감정·날짜), 첨부한 사진, 주고받은 편지, 만든 펜팔 설정은 이용자의 기기에 저장되고 이용자 본인의 iCloud로 동기화됩니다. 같은 Apple 계정을 쓰는 기기끼리 일기를 이어 쓸 수 있게 하기 위한 것입니다.
이때 쓰이는 것은 Apple의 CloudKit 사설 데이터베이스입니다. 이용자의 iCloud 계정 안에 저장되므로 개발자는 이 데이터를 읽을 수 없고, 개발자가 운영하는 서버는 존재하지 않습니다. 동기화는 Apple의 iCloud 정책을 따릅니다.
iCloud 동기화를 원하지 않으면 iOS 설정 ▸ Apple 계정 ▸ iCloud ▸ 앱별 설정에서 Dear me를 끄면 됩니다. 그 경우 데이터는 기기에만 남습니다.
업로드한 폰트와 배경·글씨체·테마·잠금 설정은 기기에만 저장되며 동기화되지 않습니다.
앱은 광고, 분석 도구, 추적 기술, 제3자 SDK를 일절 사용하지 않으며, 이용자를 추적하지 않고 어떤 정보도 제3자에게 제공하지 않습니다.
"하루 뒤 나에게 오는 편지" 기능은 Apple의 온디바이스 생성 모델을 사용해 기기 안에서만 답장을 생성합니다. 일기 내용은 답장을 만들기 위해 기기 밖으로 나가지 않으며, 개발자나 제3자가 볼 수 없습니다. (2항의 iCloud 동기화는 답장 생성과는 별개입니다.) 이 기능은 지원 기기에서만 동작합니다.
앱 안에서 일기·편지·사진을 한 파일로 백업해 원하는 곳에 보관하고 언제든 되돌릴 수 있습니다. 그 파일을 어디에 두는지는 이용자가 정합니다.
이와 별개로 iCloud 백업이나 기기 백업을 쓰는 경우, 앱 데이터가 이용자 소유의 백업에 포함될 수 있습니다. 이는 이용자의 기기·계정 설정에 따라 관리되며 개발자와 무관합니다.
앱 내에서 일기를 삭제하거나 "모든 데이터 삭제"를 사용하면 관련 데이터와 사진이 기기에서 제거됩니다. 앱을 삭제하면 앱이 저장한 모든 데이터가 함께 삭제됩니다.
iCloud 동기화를 쓰고 있었다면 기기에서 지운 내용은 같은 Apple 계정의 다른 기기에서도 함께 지워집니다. iCloud에 남은 데이터는 iOS 설정 ▸ Apple 계정 ▸ iCloud ▸ 저장 공간 관리에서 지울 수 있습니다.
앱은 개인정보를 수집하지 않으므로 아동을 포함한 모든 연령대가 안전하게 사용할 수 있습니다.

The app collects no personal information. There is no account or sign-in, and it never asks for information that could identify you.
Everything you create — diary entries (title, body, mood, date), attached photos, letters, and the pen pals you shape — is stored on your device and synced to your own iCloud, so you can carry on across devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
This uses Apple's CloudKit private database. Because it lives inside your iCloud account, the developer cannot read it, and there is no server operated by the developer. Syncing follows Apple's iCloud policies.
If you would rather not sync, turn Dear me off in iOS Settings ▸ your Apple Account ▸ iCloud ▸ Apps using iCloud. Your data then stays on the device.
Imported fonts and your background, typeface, theme, and lock preferences are stored on the device only and are not synced.
The app contains no advertising, analytics, tracking technologies, or third-party SDKs. It does not track you and shares no information with third parties.
The "a letter to you, a day later" feature uses Apple's on-device generative model to create the reply entirely on your device. Your diary content never leaves the device to produce the reply, and neither the developer nor any third party can see it. (The iCloud sync described in §2 is separate from generating replies.) This feature only works on supported devices.
You can back up entries, letters, and photos as a single file from inside the app, keep it wherever you like, and restore from it at any time. Where that file goes is up to you.
Separately, if you use iCloud Backup or device backup, app data may be included in your own backup. That is controlled by your device and account settings and is unrelated to the developer.
Deleting an entry, or using "Delete all data," removes the data and photos from your device. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
If you were syncing, anything deleted on one device is deleted on the others signed in to the same Apple Account. Data left in iCloud can be removed from iOS Settings ▸ your Apple Account ▸ iCloud ▸ Manage Storage.
Because the app collects no personal information, it is safe for users of all ages, including children.
